"New York City closing 19 Schools around the City"


The New York City Department Of Education is closing down 19 schools around the city. On Wednesday, January 27th, 2010 the Department Of Education had a city wide hearing and many students, teachers, and parents came out to tell their testimony on why New York City should not close down the schools. But because of the poor standards, low grades and low graduation rates it leaves them no chose but to close down the schools. Some say that they should not close the schools but fix them to be better places for student.

Some of the school are set to close in June, other some are set to close in the coming years.
